I’ve taken some time to reflect on the happenings of the past few months, and the impacts that the pandemic has had on small businesses. We all desire to be whole, healthy and in control again. Today, I will address what it means to be healthy and why it matters to business owners.
Business owners want to be healthy in the direct sense of the word. It falls on their shoulders to see their employees remain healthy and their customers remain healthy.
As a customer, it’s easy to overlook this. Keeping everybody safe from the virus is just one more thing business owners attend to behind the scenes. Just as they attend to every other aspect of their business without us being aware of it.
I think the emotional aspect of operating during the crisis has been overlooked. This may be the most difficult part of the entire crisis for business owners.
To be healthy also means having everything on track again within the business. This includes growing and still pursuing new opportunities. We anticipate sales picking up again and bringing employees back.
To be healthy means getting back to providing quality goods and services, meeting the needs of communities, following their dreams, and most importantly, remembering why they’re doing all this in the first place.
Stay tuned for my next post, as I will be talking about what small businesses must do to be in control once again after the crisis.
